Biography

He started his legal career after his graduation in 1990 as an Associate of Castro Blanco and Associates Law Firm which specializes in the Management side of Labor practice where his clients are big corporations like RFM, Swifts, Robinsons and Gokongwei Group of Companies. He then ventured in handling labor unions where he became the in-house counsel of the Philippine Airlines Employees Association (PALEA) from 1992-1996 and the Flight Attendants and Stewards Association of the Philippines (FASAP) from 1994-1996. He has been instrumental in the reinstatement of 173 dismissed union officers of PALEA relative to their 1994 strike, winning the case against Philippine Airlines at all levels which was then represented by the Siguion Reyna Law Firm at the level of the Department of Labor and by Atty. Estelito Mendoza at the Supreme Court. During his stint as a labor lawyer, he took up his Master of Industrial Relations at the University of the Philippines, School of Labor and Industrial Relations.

Education

Atty. Ernesto “Boyet” Tabao is a Bachelor of Philosophy graduate from the University of the Philippines, Diliman in 1986. Wanting to finish his law degree in four years as a working student, he skipped enrolling in U.P. and Ateneo Law School for his law studies, which has a 5 year legal course program for working students. Instead, he took up and finished his law degree as a working student at the San Beda College of Law in 4 years. While studying law, he worked as a College Professor at the Far Eastern University and later on at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines teaching various Philosophy subjects. He likewise worked as a Compensation and Classification Specialist at the Department of Budget and Management.

Aurelo Umali

Telecomunications

Atty. Aurelio Umali was one of the founding partners of the firm until he was later on appointed as Deputy Commissioner of the National Telecommunications Commission under President Joseph Estrada. He later on ran as a Congressman for the 2nd District of Nueva Ecija, where he served for two consecutive terms until he was elected to be the Governor of the whole Province which is the position that he is occupying at present.
